Mezcal is more than a spirit. It is agriculture, history, culture, chemistry, tradition—and the accumulated knowledge of generations of people who make it.
I spent years studying agave spirits both behind the bar and in Mexico, traveling through Jalisco visiting agave fields, distilleries and mezcalerías and learning from the people who grow, produce and live with these spirits.
Through Rio Mezcal Education, I offer immersive tastings and classes that explore mezcal from the ground to the glass.
And yes, we drink while we learn.
